EMV Contactless Level 1 test plan version 3.2a – TTA bulletin 283 postponing test case TAB117

Since early January 2025, EMVCo has released on their website updated documentation regarding the approval of new PCD (Proximity Coupling Device). The digital and analog test cases have been updated, and the ICS has also been changed to reflect the new test suite version 3.2a.

Payment terminal providers shall use these documents when submitting their product to EMV Contactless Level 1 type approval.

Nevertheless, one of the new test cases integrated to the updated version 3.2a causes testing procedure issues. In consequence, the Test Case TAB117, “verifying PCD phase drift” has been postponed to a future release. Hence this test case is not applicable with the current version of the PCD test plan and laboratories shall not perform this test case.
