New test plans available for Visa Contactless approval

Visa Approval Services announced the availability of new contactless reader test plans, that shall be used for the certification of Visa contactless kernels.

All the Visa contactless test plans are concerned with this update : VCPS for retail, VCTKS for transit and VRTPKS for Tap to Phone.

They have been improved to increase the accuracy of tests performed by laboratories during official Terminal Type Approvals.

The VCPS test plan integrates new tests related to the Specification Bulletin 272, for transaction date management. This bulletin was released few months ago by EMVCo. To know more about the changes related to SB 272, read our previous post HERE.

New ICS (Implementation Conformance Statement) corresponding are also available to reflect the changes in each test plan.

It is important that terminal providers always use the latest version of ICS for the certification of new products with Visa Contactless reader type approvals.

Visa Approval Services also released a test plan for the Reader Application Selection specification, VCPS Reader Application Selection. The testing of this mechanism is required when the terminal embeds a proprietary Application Selection method.
